Cyprus meeting was fantastic...

First comenius experience by Lidia (Primary teacher)

Last 18th of March Amaya, Emilio, Álvaro and me arrived to Cyprus. I had never imagined that I would travel to that fabulous place. I surprised when I realized the some similar aspects that Cyprus shares with Andalusia: the weather, nice, funny and helpful people, landscapes…
We stayed at a hotel located in a small village called Kakopetria, a bit far from Nicosia, the capital. Kakopetria has a lot of narrow streets that hide old houses and cute coffee shops. We met a lot of teachers from different countries like Poland, Italy, Sicily, Portugal, of course: Danuta, Monika, Nuno, Graça,Guido, Luis, Steios, Christine, Demetra , Tula, Anne, Evrydiki (sorry but some names are very difficult for me to write and pronounce). As well as we also met some relatives of these teachers that accompanied us to visit some gorgeous places like Afrodite’s beach, the ruins of Paphos, Troodos mountains and typical taverns of Cyprus that remind me to Greece. I forgot to tell you that Cyprus is invaded by Turkish troops that stay at the northern part. It is incredible to find a church and a few meters later, find a mosque. You can also see people who wears like us and a few meters later, people who wears robes on their heads… It seemed that, you had jumped to another country: Turkey …
To sum up, I liked very much this experience, talk about education and the learning process with foreign teacher that gave me another point of view and have enriched the trip. THANK YOU SO MUCH COMENIUS!!!! I HOPE TO REPEAT!!!

News... Comenius Trips

March and April are going to be a really intensive months... At the end of March, 4 teachers from our school (Amaya, Lidia, Emilio and Alvaro) are going to visit Cypruss. They'll know how is the educative system, the comenius friend school, the culture... and prepare the next activities in our project, the videoconference, the cultural guide book, the next oficial meeting in Tavira, Portugal in May...

Another group from our school will visit Poland just after holly week holidays. 3 teachers (July, Marta and Manolo) and 11 students from 3º level of secundary are going to enjoy of polish hospitality. It's a exchange, all the activities will be related with the students. They'll be living with polish families and talking all the time in English!

Comenius News - Visit from Norway

Our school is going to live a new Comenius experience, this time is a totally diferent activitie.

We are going to receive a visit from Norway. His name is Arne and he is a spanish teacher in his country.

He will be in Seville during one month, working in our school like english teacher and following the physical education lessons.

We'll have the oportunity to speak english with him, and he'll improve his spanish, practising it a lot (only with teachers of course ;p)

Netmeeting Activities

Our students are developing diferents activities about our Comenius Project, one of these is related with the new technologies and comunication.

They are keeping in contact with their new friends from Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Italy... using the Facebook and working with videoconference at the school and some of them at home.

We did it with polish students some months ago, and now we're doing it with slovenian.

Is really good to check that our students can comunicate in english, better or worse, but they can find the real application of the english lenguage, and use it as motivational aspect to learn it.

Two weeks ago we received the visit from our Comenius Friends. They were here during four days.
It was a really incredible experience, because we were with 21 teachers and 10 students, who were sleeping in our students houses.

The students arrived from Sicily, Tavira and Cyprus. We know it was a great experience for them and they learnt a lot, and not only english.

Anyway we did a lot of activities, we worked at school with differents classrooms with presentations from differents countries, we played flamenco music and Xmas music, the students talked and worked about Tolerance...

We visited Seville, Santa Cruz's District, Alcazar, Cathedral, Triana's District, Spain's Square, Maria Luisa's Park...

And the last day we visited Ronda.

We are preparing the next trip to Cyprus in March and the new netmeeting... this time with Slovenia.

More Comenius!!!!

New Meeting in Seville and some news

Our project has a new meeting, this time in our school, in Dos Hermanas, Seville.

The school teachers and some students from Slovenia, Cyprus, Poland, Italy and Portugal are going to visit Seville from 29th of November to 3rd of December.

We are preparing a different activities for the program as school activities, Seville and Ronda's visit, orienteering race across Santa Cruz district...

We discuss about our work in the project, the facebook group, the Christmas cards, the countrie cultural guide... and we'll organize the next trip.

This visit is going to be special, because we'll host some students from Sicily and Cyprus too. They'll be at school working with our students and living with some of our families. It will be a great experience for everybody.

So we are working actually with facebook group and videoconference meeting, two ways to comunicate and improve the english and computer habilities at the same time.

our schools

* Bring to Spain Christmas wishes, postcards written by students in order to exchange them and bring them home

* Start the work with the Cultural guide book of our country, region (in Spain we decide when they should be ready)

* Help students get to know with each other (facebook)
